About – Rustic Jack Productions

Rustic Jack Productions

Rustic Jack Productions is an independent film and storytelling studio rooted in Kennebunkport, Maine — dedicated to crafting cinematic experiences that feel intimate, human, and unforgettable.

Rustic Stories with a Cinematic Edge

Rustic Jack Productions was built on the idea that powerful stories don’t need massive budgets — they need heart, tension, atmosphere, and characters you can’t shake once the credits roll. From haunting horror to deeply emotional, family-centered narratives, each project is designed to linger with the viewer long after the screen goes dark.

Blending classic cinematic influences with modern indie grit, Rustic Jack Productions focuses on grounded locations, practical filmmaking, and raw performances. Whether it’s a chilling short film like The Celebration or a heartfelt, award-winning children’s book like Windows in Heaven, the goal is the same: honest storytelling that connects.

The studio’s work spans film and literature — short films actively submitted to festivals, a feature film currently in development, and written projects that explore grief, hope, and the unknown. Each project is treated as its own handcrafted experience, built with care, intention, and a respect for the audience’s imagination.

Rustic Jack Productions is not a factory. It’s a workshop — a place where stories are shaped, reshaped, refined, and brought to life by a filmmaker who believes in taking risks, embracing imperfection, and always honoring the story first.

About Jack Kudas

Filmmaker Jack Kudas

"Be creative, don't be afraid to be different, trust your vision, be prepared, and most importantly have fun, you're making a movie."

Jack's passion for filmmaking was ignited early on by classics like Jaws, Halloween, Harry Potter, and the iconic works of Alfred Hitchcock. That inspiration led him to Maine Media Workshops + College, where he honed his craft learning from professionals — including Steven Spielberg's lighting designer and a director from Game of Thrones.

Through filmmaking and writing, Jack continues to find purpose, creativity, and meaningful success. He remains creatively open and versatile, pursuing stories that inspire him with passion and commitment, bringing each project to life with authenticity and vision.

Jack is currently developing his first feature film while continuing to create a slate of short films, many actively being submitted to the festival circuit. At the same time, he is promoting his award-winning children's book, balancing both his filmmaking and literary pursuits with dedication and momentum.

Whether he’s behind the camera, in the edit, or refining a story on the page, Jack approaches each project with the same mindset: respect the craft, respect the audience, and never lose the sense of wonder that made you fall in love with movies in the first place.
